While I am on the road for and doing post-event stuff for in parallel, I also started working on the videos. 🤪 Here is the first one with Kimya Gandhi and “The Act of Pressing a Key: The Journey of a Letterform on to Your Screen” youtu.be/jSBoXCsCyNI

@btconf It’s really a challenge these days – especially with the community’s fragmentation… I’d say YouTube is where also the younger people are very active(ly watching). And they also use LinkedIn. Bluesky – is there a friends of starter pack? – and Mastodon for the (older? sorry!) more tech-savvy audience. And maybe something like Discord or reddit as well? But that would probably only work with a lot of engagement in various servers/channels… 🤔

Nearly 60% of people who come to come by recommendation. That is wonderful! On the other hand I ask myself how and if I should get more visibility on any platform that addresses new attendees also. And which one these are?!

This is my (for now) last post, promise — or at least that’s the plan.

I just want to say a few more words about @marcthiele.

As a visitor of the , it becomes pretty obvious very quickly: you don’t do something like this to make money. Marc’s on a mission. With a surprising level of selflessness, he brings people together and gets them talking.

Attended this years in Düsseldorf again and was so occupied listening to the talks, catching up with friends while also making new connections, that I forgot to post 😄 best conference and totally recommend it, as always.

See you next year @beyondtellerrand!

My small contribution to this year’s @btconf. During each talk, I collect photos and quotes, and the presentation is shown afterward. The design is driven by random values. In the background, there’s a pool of textures, graphics, svg masks, and fonts, with their styling controlled simply via php rand(). As simple as it is effective.

What a journey – 8-year-old Matthias (aka Powerman⚡️) loved every bit of it! @Signalnoise showing at how early influences, side projects, and persistent curiosity ultimately shaped his bold, colorful creative identity. 💜

Loved the practical, hands-on talk by @bramus at on the View Transitions API. and JS working together to make the web feel even more native and improve UX – that’s web design engineering at work. 👏☺️

Incredible day-2 opener by @andremichelle at , who condensed >25 years of building music software into his in-browser openDAW – a case for openness … and persistence. Including a 🤘 live performance by @bastianallgeier 🎸👏

I really hope @btconf comes back to Berlin some day.

I still think daily about how great it was.

And it's bittersweet to see pictures of the current in Düsseldorf.
